NEW TESTAMENT COMMENTARIES

I have just begun a project to write New Testament commentaries. This is primarily a learning tool for me. My goal is not to define what the writers were saying when they wrote. My goal is to clarify what was going on in the life of the Church and the culture of the time as they wrote. In some cases, the actual words and phrases used have been distorted by translation and Church tradition. In these cases, I will point out any language or translation problems, how you interpret it is up to your own discernment powers.   Half of the New Testament was written by Paul. Paul had written 6 of his letters before the first Gospel (Luke) was written. All of the Gospels, Luke, Mark, Matthew and John (in chronological order), in my opinion were influenced by Paul’s writings.
